I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years of experience and have worked in both South Africa and Australia. I have worked in public hospital, private practice and private clinic settings.  Therapy is a personal process of growth within which I aim to draw on the fields I have trained in and tailor an individualised, emergent process. I draw on and use: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Ego State Therapy; Dialectical Behavioural Therapy; Interpersonal Neurobiology as taught by Dan Siegel; and somatic/trauma approaches like the polyvagal theory orientated frameworks of the Community Resilience Model (as taught by the TRI, CA, USA), the work of Bessel v.d Kolk and Peter Levigne, amongst others. I also trained in hypnotherapy and past-life regression, and I am a certified 200-hour Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher, certified 220-hour Yoga Teacher, and Ishaya Meditation Teacher. I have also done courses in Integrative Medicine and complementary alternative therapies for mental health practitioners which creates room for all of the above to be held in a holistic framework and orientation.

I work with adolescents (14+) and adults in the following areas:

·        Depression

·        Postnatal/perinatal depression

·        Anxiety

·        Stress

·        Eating disorders

·        Bipolar mood disorder

·        Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

·        Complex trauma

·        Childhood emotional neglect

·        Struggling with a chronic illness

·        Loss and Bereavement

·        Relationship/marriage difficulties

·        Spiritual emergence

·        Feeling like you need to work through some things to be a better you

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Panic

  • Grief and loss / Life transitions

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

  • Perinatal adjustment

  • Body Image / Eating Disorders

  • Stress and burnout

  • Anger management

  • Low self-esteem

I offer a warm, authentic and down-to-earth approach, in a relaxed, judgement-free atmosphere. It is my goal to support you with your current challenges, so that you can understand yourself more deeply, and find practical ways to move forward. I utilise evidence-based treatments backed by research, such as CBT - to help you in everyday life, outside the therapy room. I also integrate a deeper, more holistic psychodynamic perspective, considering how your early life experiences may have shaped your relationship with yourself, others and the world you find yourself in.

Please call or email for a confidential conversation about your needs.
